Model Predictive Control in a Pendulum System
نویسنده
چکیده
Model Predictive Control (MPC) is applied to a pendulum system consisting of a pendulum and a cart. The objective of the MPC-controller is to steer the system towards precalculated trajectories that move the system from one operating point to another. The sample time of the controller sets hard limitations on the execution time of the optimization routine in the MPC-controller. The optimization problem to solve is cast as a convex optimization problem that can be efficiently solved to allow for real time implementation. The control scheme is applied to a physical pendulum and cart system and the performance of the proposed controller is compared to optimal performance.

Model Predictive Control and Stability Analysis of a Standing Biped with Toe-Joint
In this paper standing balance control of a biped with toe-joint is presented. The model consists of an inverted pendulum as the upper body and the foot contains toe-joint. The biped is actuated by two torques at ankle-joint and toe-joint to regulate the upper body in upright position. To model the interaction between foot and the ground, configuration constraints are defined and utilized. To s...

In this paper we investigate a biological framework to generate and adapt a motion pattern so that can be energy efficient. In fact, the motion pattern in legged animals and human emerges among interaction between a central pattern generator neural network called CPG and the musculoskeletal system. Here, we model this neuro - musculoskeletal system by means of a leg - like mechanical system cal...
متن کاملDiscrete Time Model Predictive Control Approach for Inverted Pendulum System with Input Constraints
Model predictive control (MPC) includes a receding-horizon control techniques based on the process model for predictions of the plant output. Since late 1970’s several MPC approaches have been reported in the literature. Selection of the most appropriate MPC approach depend on the specific problem. In this paper, discrete time MPC is applied to a inverted pendulum system coupled to a cart. The ...
متن کاملModel predictive control of an inverted pendulum by Mixed Logical Dynamical approach
In this paper, we consider the solution of the control problem using the Mixed Logical Dynamical approach for inverted pendulum system. This approach is well adapted to hybrid systems because of its ability to address several issues such as model predictive control (MPC) of hybrid systems. Two topics are addressed: First, we start by proposing Mixed Logical Dynamical (MLD) formalism for the inv...
متن کاملModelling and Predictive Control of Inverted Pendulum
The paper is focused on creating a model of Inverted pendulum system and subsequent usage of this model to design a predictive controller of inverted pendulum system. The model is obtained on base of mathematical physical analysis of the system. Unknown parameters of the model are obtained from real-time experiments on the PS600 Inverted pendulum system. The model is designed in MATLAB/Simulink...
